PUTTING - OUT SYSTEM

CRÖM-D explores a contemporary reactivation of the Putting-Out System, a pre-industrial production model based on networks of distributed workshops.

Historically used in the European textile industry before the rise of factories, this system relied on centralized coordination and decentralized manufacturing carried out by independent artisans.

Reinterpreted today through circular economy and upcycling practices, CRÖM-D proposes a new production ecology: lighter, more local and rooted in the valorization of craft expertise.

At the intersection of design, craft and industry, the project activates a network of workshops in Mexico City to transform existing materials into new garments and objects, revealing the potential of distributed production for contemporary challenges.
